You don't have to be creatively inclined hun. From what I can tell, some of it involves games and others challenges like icons and picspams but since it's point-based rather than quality based, the important thing is the "trying" rather than "who's icon is better" etc. I've never taken part in a landcomm and I know there are a ton of other new people who are nervous because they don't feel creatively inclined.

Ok, cool, that doesn't sound quite as daunting as I first thought. I just have absolutely zero talent when it comes to anything art-related, or even really the tools/knowledge to do anything, so I don't think I'd be much of an asset!

It's exactly what pengyn said. I, for one, am no master at graphics (my wallpapers always turn out AWFUL!) but the challenges are more about just giving it your best shot to help out your team. And you only need to do the challenges you're able to do. The first challenge is always a pimp challenge (which is what this post is) that everyone can do. I snerched that banner from someone on my team so it took absolutely no effort on my part at all!

There's also a lot of game/trivia challenges to balance out the graphic/writing challenges. Luck challenges are the easiest thing ever (something like pick a number between 1 - 10 and get points) and every comm I've been in has done them. Plus you usually get points for voting in the graphic/writing challenges so there is definitely plenty someone can do without being artistically inclinded :)

...BUT...all that being said, I don't want you to feel pressured into joining. Land-comms aren't for everyone and you should only join if it's something you want to do :)

Well, challenges only start in August which means there is some time to try some basic things. Remember, we were all 'terrible' once. My first attempt at photoshopping icons was awful lol. And there are "ways" to get you tools like photoshop etc and mini tutorials to get you started on re-sizing images and creating blank 100x100 canvases.

I'm still waiting to hear back, but last I checked, DharmaDays still needed members to be even with the other two teams, so I've got my fingers crossed!

That banner was posted in it's own thread at teamdharmadays and that had all of the coding in a little texty box. Just copy the code and paste it into a journal entry and you'll be good to go:)
