Gwen read the victim’s statement for the third time that night, trying to remember what she was meant to be looking for in the files Jack had lent her. With the boys gone home for the night, or wherever they went after-hours, Gwen was left alone in the Hub with Tosh.
Gwen watched as Tosh’s fingers slid over her keyboard with a speed and accuracy one might call super-human. Gwen imagined what those feather-light touches would feel like skimming down the slope of her neck, running across the bare skin of her belly, or slipping between her thighs.
After what had to have been an inappropriate length of time, Gwen tore her gaze away from Tosh and back to the files on her desk. But the Hub was too quiet that night and Gwen heard every key-stroke Tosh made with those nimble fingers. Finally accepting she would get no work done that evening, Gwen closed the file and swiveled around in her chair.
“Hey, Tosh?” Gwen asked, speaking her first words in the last hour.
“Yes?” Tosh answered, not looking away from her screen.
“Would you fancy going for a drink?” That got her attention. “Rhys won’t be home for hours and I don’t think I’m up for a night alone in front of the telly.”
Tosh bit her bottom lip and Gwen felt a shiver ghost down her spine. “Well, I did promise Jack I would finish sorting through this new data…” Gwen thought of the vibrator in her bedside table and how much she had abused the poor thing as of late. “But since he and Ianto disappeared hours ago…” The smirk drew Gwen’s attention back to Tosh’s mouth. “I’d love to.”
“Really?” Gwen asked, digging her heels into the floor to stop from bolting out of her chair.
“Yes, I can come by early in the morning and sort through the rest of this,” Tosh said.
“Great! I’ve got to put these files back in Jack’s office so...15 minutes?” Gwen asked, already shrugging on her jacket.
“Sounds perfect,” Tosh said. As Gwen walked by her desk, she got another glimpse of Tosh’s long fingers as the tech began to log off from her system.

Years later, when Tosh & that first Hub were long gone, Gwen would laugh at the memory of how it all started with those 10 magical fingers.
