*Alpha/Echo: New OTP? Well…one of them, anyway.

*DUDE!!! Saunders was a Doll?!?!?! AWESOME!!! Evil!Claire is HOT! And her name was Whiskey!

*Nope. Alpha/Saunders = New OTP. About as twisted as one can get…but HOT!!!

*Finally, Paul learns about Alpha.

*Correction, Adelle: Alpha = Super Genius.

*I don’t want that throne. It doesn’t look comfy.

*“I’m not my best anymore.” Poor Victor. Geez, Claire. Harsh, much? Now Victor won’t be a doll anymore? Seeing how Claire turned out, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. HEH! Whiskey was the #1 Active!!! DUDE. There was another Dr. Saunders?!

*Fireflies. Nice reference, Joss. I love Topher. Paul, meet the dolls. Oh, wait. You already have.

*Nope. Alpha/Echo is still my new OTP. His stalker crush was creepily awesome. “You are the best.” Watch your step. Funny. Alpha’s craziness is made of win.

*Alpha destroyed his original personality. Wonder what he’s going to do with Echo? Say goodnight, Caroline. Good riddance, if you ask me.

*“Let Echo be number one.” That’s why he cut her?!?!?!?! EVIL!!!/“I was making art.” I love Alpha. Geez. No wonder he went crazy…er./More eye-poking, Joss. Really?

*Ascension looks painful. /Bam! Didn’t expect that, did ya, Super Genius?

*Prisoners = Dolls. Yeah, that makes sense.

*Hulu is awesome. Back to episode.

*Whiksey 1.1? Was there a 1.0? Is there a 1.2? Does ‘Claire’ know she was Whiskey 1.1? Guess so.

*Gunshot wounds suck. So do face slashes. But eye-gouges have got to be the worst.

*Boyd/Paul = Team of AWESOME. Is it wrong that I find Paul’s obsession with Caroline creepy but Boyd’s feelings perfectly understandable? Go Paul! You saved the girl, buddy! Now maybe you can let go of that creepy obsession, once and for all.

*No more Dr. Saunders? Topher imprinted Claire to hate him? That is strange. And oddly sentimental.

*I knew Paul would trade himself for her!!! He totally loves her!!! *Paul/Mellie shipper heart breaks* Madeline. Okay…Newest OTP? = Paul/Madeline. *crosses fingers for next season*

Final thoughts: Best episode of the season. But, I’m not surprised. And FOX…Dollhouse better get renewed.

I'm glad Mellie/Madeline was freed, Paul's obsession with Caroline was getting tired (totally with you on loving Boyd's attention to Echo over Paul's).

Awesome ep, but damn it, if it's not renewed, I'm gonna be pissed. No one (important) died, even! What's happened Joss? ;) Leaving Alpha alive and Echo even as Omega good leads to all kinds of cool next season stuff. Plus, Whiskey, Paul as handler (?) or new Dominic, Victor will need a new role... Ah, my heart's gonna be broken over this show's future ::hopes not::

Ah, Whiskey...Hope we see more of her past next season 'cause Amy knocks it out of the park every single time.

I was happy Paul saved the RIGHT girl this time but also sad 'cause it may mean Mellie is gone for good. Let's hope Madeline sticks around and finds some way to interact with Paul.

Or...even better...Adelle was just lying about releasing November and she'll secretly return to her doll-state...if only so she can still be around Paul.

Oh, it'd be so cruel to keep November, and yet, I would really like for her to be on the show still in some capacity. I'm thinking those contracts are pretty tight, so maybe she'll just wind up at another House instead.

Maybe it's because Boyd's focus on Echo is non-sexual? Yeah, Paul is worried about her, but he also wants in her pants. Boyd's just plain worried about her. That significantly lessens the creepiness factor.

It's not clear to me whether Paul was signing up to work for the Dollhouse similar to Boyd, or whether he was signing up to become an Active. I'm not sure if I missed something, or if it was left ambiguous on purpose.

I'm pretty sure they wanted to leave that open-ended. That's how I saw it, at least. My guess would be that Paul takes some kind of position on the staff because I don't think he'd EVER agree to become a doll, even to save 'Mellie'.

Yeah, you're probably right on the creep-factor. Boyd's feelings for Echo are innocent and based an actual experiences with her whereas Paul's obsession comes only from what he knows about 'Caroline' and leans toward the attraction side.

I need to watch again, but I believe Adelle either said Paul was their "new contractor" or "new handler". I won't be able to watch for a while, so hopefully someone else can catch it before I get a chance. Contractor would be ambiguous, but handler would mean like Boyd.

IF Paul becomes a handler, they better not give him Echo. 'Cause I'm fairly certain that would just re-ignite his obsession with Caroline all over again. (And really...I think we've had enough of that. It was creepy.) Make him Sierra's handler.

...OR...If they do what I think they'll do with Victor (turn him into the new Dominic) Paul could be his 'partner' and keep tabs on him.

The Echo "personality" may be...childlike, but at least it's a personality Boyd's spent months interacting with on a daily basis. Paul's obsession is based on a photo and a video clip, not actually knowing Caroline.

Exactly. And like I said above, if Paul becomes Echo's handler, the obsession will start all over again. And I'm betting Adelle is much smarter than that:).

The guardian/parent-like relationship is really sweet to watch; Paul was too conflicted, especially coupled in with his relationship with Mellie.

Paul as an active would be interesting to see, but I think he's gonna work as security, that was the vibe I got. It was, as you said, ambiguous, though, so maybe if there's a second season, we'll be surprised. I doubt Victor will be able to go out now, so they do need a replacement.

Well, Paul would make an amazing active but there's no way he would've volunteered for that. IF they make him an active, it'll be against his will.

AHHHH!! I can't believe I was right about Claire... I am normally never right.. I feel bad for Topher. He must love her and so he had to have her hate him to make it easier.

Mellie/November, oops I mean Madeline.... It broke my heart to watch that scene, I even cried a bit. I guess she is gone even if we get a season 2.

I still think it is weird how something of all Echo's experiances as different imprints has stayed with her when they arent suppose too. Isnt that what happened to Alpha. I still kinda do not understand that whole thing. Did he put all imprints in him on purpose? Was he just a shell when he did that to himself? Confusing...

All in all I think if they do not bring the show back, it was like a miniseries for me and it ended well. I do not have any questions to be answered except what I didnt understand.

I agree that if, GODS FORBID, we don't get another season, the show had a nice, complete arc. That said, I'll be furious if I don't get to see more of these very complex characters.

And I wouldn't count Miracle out just yet. I think we may've seen the last of 'Mellie' but I wouldn't be surprised to see Madeline or even November in season 2. For one thing, Adelle could be lying through her teeth. Perhaps she lets Madeline go only to re-recruit her in secret. We all know she's smart enough to pull it off without Paul catching on. Also, Madeline could decide to come back to the Dollhouse to avoid the pain of grieving for her daughter OR she could start having memories of some of her former imprints and come back for answers.

I also hope Alpha and Claire/Whiskey will return for season 2. And I hope all three actors are brought back as regulars, not guest stars.

Congrats for figuring out the Claire/Whiskey thing. I figured one of the other characters was a doll but I was kinda leaning toward Adelle or even Paul. That said, I wasn't really surprised to learn it was Claire. The only person who would've surprised me at this point is Boyd.

We got a lot of information in this episode and I'll have to re-watch it in order to take everything in but all in all, it was an incredible finale.

Wow!

Everyone brought their A-game tonight. The execs at FOX are idiotic if they don't renew for a 2nd season. All they have to do is look at the epic numbers that Firefly garnered in DVD sales after they'd cancelled *that* series. In many ways, I like this series in the same way I liked Firefly--it's adult. It makes you think. Everyone operates under flaws in a constant shade of grey. Like LOST, I find myself itching to see it every week, because I want to see what layer of the onion they'll unpeel next and what that will reveal.

Honestly, for those of you who watch on the actual tube with the commercials and all...the best thing you can do is write, not to FOX but to the sponsors and tell them exactly what show you were watching when you saw their product. A statement about being possibly inclined to *buy* said product as a result of that ad, which you would not have seen otherwise, would also be effective. The network drones don't care about fans because they like the shows. Networks care about eyeballs watching ads for which they can charge their sponsors millions of dollars. Go above the networks to the source of the money. Networks love money.

ITA with everything you said. I see many similarities between Dollhouse and Lost in that the mythology could last for many seasons without us truly knowing what the frak is going on.

If this show isn't renewed, I'm totally boycotting FOX. I won't even let the people in my house watch that channel, lol.

This episode was amazing! Whiskey was HOT! I totally wasn't expecting that. I love Alpha's fifty zillion personalities. He had me laughing throughout the entire ep.

Why did Topher program her to hate him? Hmm, something I'd like them to explore in SEASON TWO, which I'm stating again, better happen.

I didn't notice the Firefly reference the first time around. I am not the observant one ;_;

Claire was harsh with Victor but she was clearly speaking to herself rather than to him. And she made up for it with lollipop.

I worry about Victor too. He's been in sweet, innocent, helpless mode for the last two episodes and my heart goes out to him. I just want Sierra to take care of him or something.

Ugh, I am so not hopeful of renewal. Firefly's cancellation killed my fighting spirit. That said, if it is cancelled I will still be shocked and hurt anyway so there's no point in trying to steel myself against it.

I share your doubts and fears but I'm hoping FOX learned their lesson with Whedon fans and Firefly and they'll just give us this one.
